Junior Legal Counsel
Join the legal team of a leading international travel business and help shape practical legal solutions that support one of Europe's largest holiday rental companies. As a newly qualified counsel, you'll gain broad in-house experience across commercial, regulatory and corporate matters while working closely with colleagues across the Awaze Group.
Your mission
As our new Junior Legal Counsel, your mission is to provide practical, commercially focused legal support that enables the business to operate confidently across multiple markets. You'll work alongside experienced legal professionals, partnering with stakeholders across the Awaze Group to advise on a broad range of legal matters, manage risk, and help ensure compliance. From day one, you'll take on meaningful responsibility, build strong business relationships, and develop your expertise in an international, collaborative environment.
What you'll be doing
Support the management and resolution of guest and homeowner claims across the Group's holiday rental brands
Assist with litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes, working with external legal advisers where required
Act as a first point of contact for legal queries from colleagues across the business
Provide practical legal advice on commercial contracts, consumer law, data privacy, regulatory matters and general business issues, with support from senior legal team members where appropriate
Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements relating to the procurement of goods and services
Review, maintain and update customer and supplier terms and conditions while supporting the business in applying contractual and consumer law requirements
Assist with corporate governance and company secretarial activities, including maintaining corporate records and statutory filings
Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across different functions and jurisdictions
Who we're looking for
You'll thrive in this role if you're naturally curious, commercially minded and enjoy solving legal challenges in partnership with the business. You're organised, proactive and eager to develop your career as an in-house lawyer.
We're looking for someone who brings:
A recently completed legal qualification, or qualification expected shortly, such as cand.jur., cand.merc.jur. or an equivalent legal degree
Strong legal research, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Danish and English (German is a plus)
The ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work to deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
A commercial mindset with an interest in understanding how legal advice supports business objectives
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience with legal technology tools is an advantage but not essential
Willingness to travel occasionally between our offices in Aarhus and Copenhagen
How you'll make an impact
Deliver practical legal advice that enables confident business decision-making.
Help protect the business by effectively managing legal risk and resolving disputes.
Build trusted relationships with colleagues across multiple business functions and countries.
Strengthen commercial agreements and legal documentation to support business growth.
Contribute to strong corporate governance and compliance across the Awaze Group.
Develop your expertise across a wide range of legal disciplines in a dynamic international business.

What to expect from our hiring process
At Awaze, we know that applying for a new role is a big step - so we aim to make our hiring process as clear, respectful, and engaging as possible.
We believe hiring should be a two-way conversation. It’s just as much about you getting to know us, as it is about us learning more about you.
While the exact process can vary depending on the role, here’s what you can generally expect:
-
1. Initial Conversation
We like to keep things relaxed, so we'll usually start with an informal call. This is a chance for us to get to know each other, learn about your background and interests, and give you a better sense of the role and Awaze as a whole.
-
2. Interview Stage
If our initial conversation goes well, we will invite you for an interview. This stage will give us an opportunity to understand your skills and potential, and for you to explore whether Awaze, the culture and the role align with your ambitions.
-
3. Additional Steps
Some roles may involve follow-up interviews, presentations or skills assessments. If that's the case, our team will talk you through every step, so you always know what to expect.
