Trading Lead
Trading Lead
Your mission
As our new Trading Lead, you will own the development and execution of Awaze's annual, quarterly and weekly trading plans across our customer-facing brands. Working at the heart of our commercial organisation, you'll bring together Pricing, Marketing, CRM, Finance, Product, Contact Centre, Supply, Distribution and Partnerships to turn strategy into coordinated trading activity that delivers measurable commercial results.
By combining data-driven insight with strong cross-functional leadership, you'll help maximise bookings, revenue, occupancy, conversion and profitability while ensuring the business can respond quickly to changing market conditions and customer demand.
What you'll be doing
Own and deliver the annual trading plan, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial targets.
Translate long-term strategy into quarterly trading plans that prioritise promotions, campaigns and commercial activity around key booking and arrival periods.
Coordinate weekly trading plans, ensuring priorities, ownership, dependencies and deadlines are clearly understood across the business.
Partner with Pricing, Marketing, Supply and other stakeholders to develop compelling trading events that increase customer engagement, bookings and revenue.
Monitor daily and weekly commercial performance, identifying opportunities, risks and trends across bookings, margin, occupancy, conversion and channel performance.
Develop contingency plans and practical trading toolkits that enable the business to react quickly when performance deviates from plan.
Use customer, market and competitor insights to inform trading decisions and identify new growth opportunities.
Collaborate with Product and Marketing to optimise the customer journey, improve conversion and increase direct-channel performance.
Lead post-event trading reviews, capturing learnings and embedding continuous improvement into future trading activity.
Drive an effective briefing process across Pricing, CRM, Finance, Contact Centre, Distribution, Supply and Partnerships to ensure seamless execution of trading priorities.
Manage the trading backlog by balancing commercial value, urgency, capacity and delivery dependencies.
Work closely with Commercial Finance to ensure trading activity delivers compelling customer propositions while protecting margin and cash flow.
Align direct and indirect channel plans with Distribution and Partnerships to ensure a consistent and effective commercial approach across the portfolio.
Who we're looking for
You'll thrive in this role if you're a commercially minded leader who enjoys turning insight into action and collaborating across multiple teams to deliver measurable business outcomes. You're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic planning with day-to-day trading decisions, and using data to influence priorities and drive performance.
We're looking for someone who brings:
Significant experience in a trading, commercial or revenue-focused role, ideally within travel, e-commerce or another fast-paced consumer business.
Proven success creating and executing annual, quarterly and weekly commercial or trading plans.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex performance data and translate insights into commercial action.
Experience leading cross-functional initiatives that improve revenue, margin, occupancy, conversion or customer outcomes.
Excellent market analysis and competitive intelligence capabilities.
Outstanding communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and matrix teams.
A highly organised, proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and make sound commercial decisions at pace.
Bonus points if you have:
Experience within holiday rentals, hospitality, travel or a digital-first consumer business.
Experience working closely with Pricing, CRM, Product, Media, Finance, Supply or Distribution teams.
Knowledge of promotional mechanics, voucher strategies, customer journeys and direct-channel optimisation.
How you'll make an impact
Deliver integrated trading plans that drive bookings, revenue, occupancy and commercial performance across our customer-facing brands.
Bring together multiple business functions to execute coordinated trading activity with pace and precision.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities early, enabling proactive decision-making and agile responses.
Improve customer engagement and conversion by optimising promotions, trading events and customer journeys.
Strengthen collaboration across Pricing, Marketing, Finance, Product, Supply and Partnerships to ensure aligned commercial execution.

What to expect from our hiring process
At Awaze, we know that applying for a new role is a big step - so we aim to make our hiring process as clear, respectful, and engaging as possible.
We believe hiring should be a two-way conversation. It’s just as much about you getting to know us, as it is about us learning more about you.
While the exact process can vary depending on the role, here’s what you can generally expect:
-
1. Initial Conversation
We like to keep things relaxed, so we'll usually start with an informal call. This is a chance for us to get to know each other, learn about your background and interests, and give you a better sense of the role and Awaze as a whole.
-
2. Interview Stage
If our initial conversation goes well, we will invite you for an interview. This stage will give us an opportunity to understand your skills and potential, and for you to explore whether Awaze, the culture and the role align with your ambitions.
-
3. Additional Steps
Some roles may involve follow-up interviews, presentations or skills assessments. If that's the case, our team will talk you through every step, so you always know what to expect.
